The fourth Lenten meal will be this Wednesday, March 14th at 6 p.m. A sign-up sheet is posted in the hall. The topic this week will be “We Are Church For the Sake of the World”. Please join us.
This year as part of a fundraising activity, the Council Social Committee will be selling tulips at the cost of $7.00 each. There is an order form in your bulletin if you wish to order flowers. Please place order form and money in the offering plate. After the Easter service, you will be able to take your flower(s) home with you. If you wish not to purchase flowers, a donation can also be made.
The Oster family would like to thank the congregation of St. John’s for the sympathy cards, flowers and prayers during the passing of our mother. Thank you ever so much for the love and support shown to our family during this difficult time.
ELCA DISASTER RELIEF
|Lutheran Disaster Response brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. Lutheran Disaster Response collaborates with other disaster response organizations and religious entities in the United States and around the world. This enables the greatest stewardship of resources and maximum impact of response. Lutheran Disaster Response strives to help the church continue to be church in the midst of disaster — following Christ’s call to bring hope and healing to our neighbor in need. Some key areas of work include: *Providing emotional and spiritual care for people who have been affected by a disaster and for leaders who respond to a disaster
*Coordinating volunteers through our local affiliates
*Assisting refugees in a holistic way by meeting the varied needs of the community
*Promoting disaster risk-reduction by helping communities build their assets thereby reducing the effects of likely disasters
*Providing long-term recovery efforts by addressing the unmet needs months or even years after a disaster strikes
Please designate “Noisy Offering” on your check or offering envelope or place contributions throughout March in the Noisy Offering can.
